Acquisition of a new Scanning Electron Microscope

This device is equipped with a Field Emision Gun (FEG) and a cryo station to the most challenging needs of the biology community.

In 2015, the IBPS Electron Microscopy Facility will make the acquisition of a latest generation Scanning electron microscope. This device is equipped with a Field Emision Gun (FEG) and a cryo station. It will match the most challenging needs of the biology community.

In a few words, this device will enable to:

  • Observe high-resolution surface details
  • Locate with high precision cell surface markers that are revealed by antibodies conjugated to gold nanoparticles
  • Observe native-state samples by minimizing artefacts from the different steps of preparation
  • Image TEM ultrathin sections at high magnification with a large field of view.
