Abstract: ID combines evolution-guided and molecular-genomic approaches to study the diversity of centromeres, specialized chromosomal regions that fulfill critical roles during cell division. She is particularly interested in the variant of the histone H3, CenH3, supposed to be the constitutive element of the centromeres which, nevertheless, is absent in the lineages associated with the holocentric chromosomes.
